If you've been waiting to hear something, anything about the upcoming Green Lantern movie, the update you've been craving is finally here. Kicking off the DC portion of the Warner Bros. panel, the studio announced the official title of the reboot and released the first official details on what to expect.
First things first, the Green Lantern movie will be called Green Lantern Corps. And you know what that means, right? There will be multiple Lanterns! The big Hall H panel on Saturday morning began with a comic reel highlighting the history of DC Comics and their relationship to the movies, and it was here that the WB dropped this massive bomb on us all.
Tyrese Gibson has been teasing a role in the film on his Instagram account, posting fan-made images to his page and hinting at meetings with the studio. Meanwhile, Chris Pine is reportedly up for a DC Comics movie role, as well. At first it was thought he'd be playing the main male role in the Wonder Woman film, but intel changed to suggest he could be showing up as a Lantern instead. With this new information about the Lantern Corps, both are possible.
The Green Lantern Corps. is an intergalactic police force that keeps watch over the 3,600 sectors of the universe. Hal Jordan (played on-screen by Ryan Reynolds in the 2011 film) is one of the more famous members, as are the earthbound John Stuart and Alan Scott. The Lanterns have the power to will virtually anything into existance by way of their power rings. Anything from constructs to force fields to armor to blasts to floating green fists are fare game.
Green Lantern Corps is scheduled to hit theaters on June 19, 2020, which now seems farther away than ever.

12 things we learned from the new 'Batman v Superman' trailer
The second "Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice" trailer debuted at San Diego Comic-Con this weekend, and it was absolutely jam-packed.
Clocking in at nearly three and a half minutes, the trailer gives us our first look at the plot of the film alongside a plethora of Easter eggs and glimpses at what the wider DC Universe will look like in the movie.
Let's dive right in.
They're addressing one of fans' biggest issues with "Man of Steel."

A big problem a lot of fans had was the widespread destruction in the big finale to "Man of Steel." The movie sort of acted like it was no big deal. "Batman v Superman" looks like it's going to take this head on, revealing that Bruce Wayne was at the scene, and he's very, very angry.
We finally know Batman's big problem with Superman.

Now that we know Bruce was in Metropolis when it was nearly leveled, we learn the personal stake he has in it — one of his buildings was completely destroyed in the fight, and Wayne feels responsible for the people who died on his watch.
This Batman is kind of messed up.

Ben Affleck's portrayal of Batman is the angry, ruthless sort with none of the deep sadness that seemed to haunt Christian Bale. He also seems to take things a bit too far — it looks like he even brands criminals he apprehends!

Amazon wanted to save fan favorite 'Hannibal' from cancellation, but it wanted to rush the next season
During the “Hannibal” panel at Comic-Con Saturday afternoon, showrunner Bryan Fuller divulged that the recently cancelled NBC series could have had a second life on Amazon.
Amazon “would like to have done it,” Fuller said to a room full of Fannibals, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
Fuller expressed that it wouldn’t have worked out though because the streaming platform wanted them to rush to put together the next season.
"[They] wanted to do it very quickly and I wanted to be able to get all the scripts in advance before we started shooting a fourth season and their desire to put it out immediately was impossible for us to do," said Fuller.
Netflix couldn't pick up the show due to Amazon's streaming deal for the series.
Fuller confirmed that during the panel.
However, there’s still hope for “Hannibal” to live on, fannibals, the affectionate name Hannibal fans refer to themselves as.
"We are still looking; we don't have a lot of answers and we're looking at the possibility of a feature," Fuller said, according to THR. "So we have Hugh and Mads, who are very committed to the show and would love to continue with the show. The way this season ends, we have the opportunity for a break and hopefully we'll be able to find a way to bring Mads and Hugh back to you."

The Muppets hilariously crashed the Comic-Con panel for their upcoming TV show
Kermit, Miss Piggy, Gonzo, and more beloved Muppets characters crashed the San Diego Comic-Con panel for their upcoming ABC sitcom, “The Muppets."
The audience was first treated to never-before-seen test footage that the creators pitched, which introduced the show’s hyper-meta concept.
The “mockumentary”-style show, à la “The Office," follows the gang behind-the-scenes of Miss Piggy’s late-night talk show, “Up Late with Miss Piggy.”
Everyone has their role: Kermit the Frog, executive producer; Fozzie Bear, on-air sidekick; the Swedish Chef, craft services. The Great Gonzo, Rizo the Rat, and Pepe the King Prawn staff the writers’ room. The cast list goes on, drawing from nearly 40 years of content spawned by Jim Henson’s genius.
Puppeteering legends Steve Whitmire, Eric Jacobson, Bill Barretta, and Dave Goelz brought their fuzzy friends to life after retrieving them from under the table about 20 minutes into the panel. From the moment America’s favorite crustacean, Pepe, emerged, the crowd went berserk.
In character and speaking off the cuff, Rizzo trolled Fozzie for his corny jokes. Gonzo contemplated the perils of online dating. Kermit and Miss Piggy partook in grating small-talk about the status of their love lives.

The panel gave a glimpse into the lives of the Muppets as we’ve rarely seen them before. It certainly set the stage for ABC’s reboot, which premieres September 22.
Bill Prady, co-creator of CBS’s Emmy-darling “The Big Bang Theory,” who cut his teeth as a production assistant at Jim Henson Productions, promised the audience it will touch on themes and topics over kids’ heads. In the style of “The Muppets Movie” and "Muppets Most Wanted," there will be jokes for every age of viewer.
And in keeping with the Muppets’ tradition, the team will forever be forced to decide between "doing things the way things should," Prady said, and doing things for the betterment of a friend.
As the puppeteers wrapped up, the audience treated them to a roaring standing ovation.
We can't wait to see the shenanigans unfold this fall.

Channing Tatum stormed the Comic-Con stage to take an epic photo with all the X-Men and Stan Lee
Do you think Stan Lee has a photo with all of Disney's Marvel Cinematic Universe characters?
He definitely has one with 20th Century Fox's Marvel crew.
Near the end of Fox's movie panel Saturday evening at Comic-Con, the casts of the X-Men, "Fantastic Four,""Deadpool," and "Wolverine," gathered around to take a photo on the Hall H stage.
When Marvel legend Stan Lee asked who was available to take the photo, panel host Chris Hardwick suggested Channing Tatum, at which point the "Magic Mike" surprised the crowd coming out with a selfie stick and camera.
Everyone gathered around for Hardwick to take a photo.

Even President Obama wants to know the answer to the biggest mystery on 'Game of Thrones'
When you’re the leader of the free world you get to do a lot a lot of cool stuff. You have your own plane and your own movie theater. You get to meet all kinds of famous people from world leaders, to the Super Bowl Champions. You get to do a bit on The Colbert Report. You also get to corner TV directors and grill them about your favorite show. So what do you do when The President wants spoilers?
Entertainment Weekly caught up with David Nutter, the man who directed the Season 5 finale of HBO's Game of Thrones who recently had the opportunity to meet President Obama. The President is a apparently a big fan of the show, just like everybody else, and one question for the man:
Three weeks ago, I was the in the company of the President of the United States...He turned to me, put his hand on my shoulder, and said, ‘You didn’t kill Jon Snow did you?’
It’s the question that everybody is looking to answer. Unfortunately for fans of Jon Snow the director’s response echoed that of Kit Harrington himself, and there’s really no wiggle room here.
I said, ‘Jon Snow is deader than dead'...I thought I was going to be sent to Guantanamo or something, but fortunately I’m here — but he’s dead.
The President is apparently also upset that his favorite characters keep dying, so that’s something we all have in common with the President of the United States. This is hardly the first time that Thrones has upset viewers by killing off a much loved character. It’s pretty much Standard Operating Procedure for the series. Mr. Obama told Nutter that the Red Wedding episode has been his favorite, an odd choice for somebody who doesn’t like to see characters die. Maybe he didn’t like Rob Stark. Still, it says something when the one thing the President asks David Nutter is the same thing you would have asked if you were talking to him at the bar.
Fans of the show are looking for literally any sign that Jon Snow is not dead even though it seems everybody who is in a position to know has been unequivocal in their statements that it is the case. While we know a few things about Season 6, everything we have says the man is gone.
Now we want to know what other shows the President of the United States watches. With his level of access he could be an amazing news reporter. Any writer, director, or actor would take his phone call. Does Barack watch The Flash? We want to know what’s inside that storm cloud.

The Joker actor crashes 'Gotham' panel to steal mic from fan

Gotham's Cameron Monaghan set the Internet ablaze with a creepy Instagram post confirming that he is indeed The Joker.
On Saturday, he surprised the Comic-Con crowd by appearing out of nowhere to steal the mic from a fan during the Q&A portion and being dragged off by security guards.
Before that, the panel revealed why things are about to get really bad in Gotham. Showrunner Bruno Heller promised season two of Fox's Gotham would be "the rise of the villains," telling the crowd at Comic-Con a more theatrical type of villains will be in play.
Ben McKenzie (Jim Gordon) said that in response, there will be new good guys introduced, and htey will have to band together to combat the rise of the villains

Stan Lee let it slip that he will have a very different cameo in 'X-Men: Apocalypse'
Stan Lee will have a cameo in "X-Men: Apocalypse" that is "different than every other one I've done," the comic book legend revealed at Comic-Con on Saturday.
During an "Ask Me Anything"-inspired panel, a fan asked Lee what his favorite cameo was.
The Marvel legend has appeared in more than 20 cinematic adaptations of his comic books — between the 1989 made-for-TV movie "The Trial of the Incredible Hulk" and this year's "Avengers: Age of Ultron."
"I really love them all," Lee said, before admitting that his next cameo is possibly his favorite.
"I did a cameo for the next 'X-Men' movie," said Lee before stopping short. The moderator whispered in his ear, assumedly, that the topic was off-limits. He claimed Marvel employees in the audience were giving him dagger eyes.
"When you say I'm not allowed — will I be arrested?" Lee quipped.
Fans cheered, egging him on.
"When you go see the next 'X-Men' movie when it comes out, and see my fantastic cameo, you will say, 'I remember he told me about it here," Lee said. "It's a different cameo in that it has one additional thing in it."
Despite the ambiguity of Lee's statement, the crowd went nuts.
"And if that doesn't make you go see 'X-Men,' I'm wasting my time," he added.
Fans will have a while to wait a little while.
"X-Men: Apocalypse" hits theaters May 2016.

NOW WATCH: Here's Why Stan Lee Says You Should Never Do Something Just For Money
The big reason why robots are starting to act more like humans
Robots becoming more human-like shouldn’t scare you, it should relieve you.
As robotic systems evolve they are beginning to be built modeled after human biology. Specifically, bots will be built to imitate how humans use force. And that means they will become much safer for people to be around.
Traditionally, most robots are programmed to use a position control system, which basically means they know exactly where everything in their environment is. Each of the robot’s joints is paired with a motor, which is then programmed to coordinate with software. And these joints are all set to a targeted position.
While this model works in some use cases, like in manufacturing plants where robots are not near workers, it can be very dangerous if robots are in close proximity to humans. For example, if a position-controlled robot is programmed to go from point A to point B, and a person crosses the robot’s path, then they could get seriously injured.
An incident like this occurred earlier this month when a man was killed in a Volkswagen factory by a manufacturing robot.
“It’s not that the robot is trying to kill anybody, it’s just a dumb machine with some motors that have been programmed and he was in the wrong place at the wrong time,” Will Jackson, the director of Engineered Arts, a robotics company in the UK told Business Insider.“But that machine was not going to stop, that is the key difference. It’s going to from A to B and it’s going to try as hard as it can to try and get there. And if that guy is in the way it doesn't even know he’s in the way. It’s just going to keep pushing.”
The best way to fix this is to design and build robots that work like humans do, which is exactly what Jackson’s company is trying to do.
Rather than taking industrial robot technology and arranging it like a human and trying to make it work, Jackson and his team are building a bipedal robot called Byrun that imitates human biology.
Instead of a position controlled system, it works off of a force controlled system, which means that it is more responsive to the amount of force it is applying. This is similar to how human bodies work, Jackson said.
“What we need to get is robots that work in a much much more sensitive way. When you or I go to do a task, we reach for it, we feel for it, we work out how heavy it is and how hard we have to push it to get it from where it is to where we want it and it’s a much more adaptive way of doing things. It’s not about knowing everything in advance, it’s kind of about making it up as we go along,” Jackson said.
“The robots being built don’t have to know everything about the world that you are in. They can basically feel their way around the world.”
Byrun is still in development but his latest model can do things similar to humans like shifting his weight from leg to leg and bending his knees 180 degrees. This flexibility helps him to better respond to his environment. Eventually, they plan to make Byron run and jump, as well.
“In order to make robots that are safe around people they have to know when they have hit something and they have to stop and that’s applying the minimum amount of force to get to a place. If we can do that you can then make robots that are safe to put around people and that is a huge game changer,” Jackson said.
“Once you can do that you will start seeing robots in commercial scenarios, you’ll start seeing cooperative working in factories and all kinds of applications that you just couldn’t do now because it’s just too dangerous. And that’s why we are interested in that kind of design.”

The 'Deadpool' trailer from Comic-Con leaks online and it looks like everything fans hoped it would be
Twentieth Century Fox debuted the trailer for Ryan Reynolds' "Deadpool" movie to massive cheers in Hall H on Saturday evening, so it's little surprise the footage has found its way online.
The film has been a pet project of Reynolds' since he took on the role of the "Merc with a Mouth" in 2009's "X-Men: Origins."
The Marvel character is the only comic-book character who's aware that he's a comic-book character. Often, he'll break the fourth wall, speaking to readers and referencing pop-culture items within the confines of his comics, confusing other characters.
"Deadpool" is expected in theaters in February 12, 2016.

Ryan Reynolds says the 'Deadpool' movie is happening because of the fans
Ryan Reynolds has been trying to get a "Deadpool" movie made for 11 years.
When he took the stage for the 'Deadpool" movie late Saturday afternoon, he opened up the panel by letting fans know the film of the Comic-Con favorite character was getting made because of them.
“One year ago to almost today, some a—hole in here leaked that footage, and that’s why we’re standing here,” said Reynolds."
Reynolds is referring to test footage he shot for a "Deadpool" movie which later went viral on YouTube. The footage has since been pulled from the internet.
"Tim Miller [the director] and I just sat back there [pointing to backstage] and just shook our heads, in kind of awe, just thinking, 'How did we get here?'" continued Reynolds. "You guys, the internet, fans, you guys made the studio do this. You bent their arms behind their backs, twisted their frigging necks, and here we are."
When asked why he thinks people love this character, Reynolds responded, “I think this character inhabits a space in the comic book universe that no other person can or will ever inhabit. It's got everything you'd ever want. For one, I just think it's an absolute miracle that a studio let us make 'Deadpool,' let alone an R-rated 'Deadpool.'"
"It was R, it was PG, it was R again," chimed in director Tim Miller.
The “Deadpool” movie will be released February 12.

Fox shocks fans at Comic-Con with unexpected new footage from 'X-Men: Apocalypse'

Fox surprised a Hall H crowd with a first-look at X-Men: Apocalypse.
The appearance of the large cast – 14 actors took to the stage, ranging from James McAvoy, Jennifer Lawrence, Michael Fassbender and Nicholas Hoult to Kodi Smit-McPhee, Sophie Turner and Oscar Isaac – was heavily rumored.
But it was the footage that had the crowd roaring in approval and delight.
It gave the first glimpse of Isaac as the villain, Apocalypse, and ended with McAvoy as the bald-headed Professor X, which is the first time the actor will inhabit that iconic look.
The X-Men panel started off on a sentimental note with Hugh Jackman.
A reel showcased the history of the X-Men franchise with a heavy dose of Jackman as Wolverine and also featured rare Jackman audition footage and being offered the job.
"Up until 2 days ago I had no idea that footage existed,” Jackman said before going on what felt very much like a Wolverine farewell tour. He talked of how his new Wolverine movie will be “my last time putting on the claws. This has been the greatest things that has ever happened to me.”
Singer then joined the man whose career he helped shape and explained: “I never gave anyone a job on the spot before. But I got permission.”
X-Men: Apocalypse, directed by Bryan Singer, will hit theaters on May 27, 2016. Gambit, starring Channing Tatum, is slated for October 7, 2016.
As the large Apocalypse cast came on, Jackman and Singer hugged and Jackman bid the stage adieu.
The panel ended on a high note and a surprise on top of a surprise, much to the delight of the crowd.
After another showing of the footage, the entire cast returned to the stage with Jackman for a giant photo. Then, from one far side, X-Men co-creator Stan Lee shuffled onto the stage. Moments later, and out of the blue, Channing Tatum, who is joining the X-Men cinematic universe with his solo film Gambit, hopped from backstage and joined in on the fun. The crowd, naturally, went ape and thousands of cameraphones went into overdrive.

Of all the shocking trailers from Comic-Con — 'Deadpool' destroyed them all
What made Deadpool one of the most (if not the most) rapturously-received trailer at San Diego Comic-Con this year?
It wasn't just the swearing, the Stan Lee cameo or the hyper-violence — instead, it was the fact that it looks like the first movie that talks to the fan audience in their own language.
The tone was set, admittedly, in a pre-discussion video that voiced many Deadpool fans' frustrations by making fun of the decision to sew the character's mouth shut for his big screen debut in X-Men Origins: Wolverine; considering the comic book incarnation's nickname is "the merc with the mouth," with a reputation for being a wisecracking a-hole, it was a choice that seemed surprising at best, and downright contrary at worst.
Either way, it was a sign to the hardcore fanbase that that Deadpool wasn't the character they fell in love with, and this movie's willingness to poke fun a sign that this Deadpool very much is the version they know and love.
The full length trailer shown in Hall H was more of the same, opening with a somber tone as Ryan Reynolds' Wade Wilson faces a cancer diagnosis with an appropriately dramatic, slow-pan response filled with mysterious figures offering him the chance to live — something that felt not unlike the tone of Marvel's first Ant-Man trailer, right up to the fact when Reynolds starts demanding that no-one give him a green, animated costume (Something Reynolds has painful firsthand experience of).
It's another sign that the R-rated movie Deadpool isn't just the fourth wall-breaking character comic fans recognize; he's someone who'll make the same comments and demands of the movie that fans will.
That continues throughout the rest of the trailer — Reynolds pointing out Deadpool creator Rob Liefeld in a cameo appearance (just before Stan Lee fulfills his cameo potential as a strip club DJ, playing with the veteran creator's cuddly public image in the way that fans will likely enjoy), or responding to learning Negasonic Teenage Warhead's name by breaking character to tell her how cool it is. And, to be fair, it is.
It's a movie that feels like the next generation of the metatextual referentiality that's made Marvel Studios' offerings so successful with fans — and been shared on social media by fans countless times following release.
Now, instead of Easter eggs, we have a movie that will openly talk about the things created just to thrill the faithful, pointing them out and saying Yes, we get it too, we're just like you.
With an attitude like that, it's unsurprising that the Hall H audience demanded a second screening by stamping its collective feet and chanting. The real question is whether non-Comic-Con audiences will react in the same way.
